Autocare DB Connector

The application offers Autocare DB Connector to help you gain more granular control over the database (db) downloads in the tenants.

The application uses fixed schedules to automatically download the databases from Auto Care and refresh the data to keep it up-to-date in the tenants. For more information, see Autocare Database Refresh.

Autocare DB Connector allows you to select the required databases and customize their download and sync schedules according to your business requirements.

The Autocare DB Connector allows you to:

• Provide FTP Credentials to access the database published by Autocare.
• Choose the required databases for the following categories:
  • Vehicle data package settings
  • Part data package setting
  • Qualifier & Brand data package settings

• Choose the download languages.
• Choose the duration of the supported versions.
• Select or deselect automatic reference data updates (syncing) for the selected databases.

Scenario

Consider that you wish to customize the download schedules of the Vehicle data package settings, Part data package settings, and Qualifier & Brand data package settings databases.

To schedule the database download using the Autocare DB Connector:

1. On the navigation menu, click System Administration > App Manager.

Result: The App Manager page is displayed.

2. Click the autocareconnect app link.

Result: The autocareconnect App page is displayed.

3. Click the App Settings tab.

Result: The autocareconnect App Settings grid is displayed.

4. Click the Edit icon.

5. Provide the relevant Username and Password in the FTP Credentials accordion.

6. In the Part data package settings accordion, select the checkboxes corresponding to the relevant database you wish to select from the Database drop-down list. For example, PCdb and PCAdb.

7. In the Vehicle data package settings accordion, select the relevant database from the drop-down lists. For example, VCdb - (North America) Off-Highway & Equipment and VCdb - (Latin America) Light, Medium, Heavy Duty & Powersports.

8. In the Qualifier & Brand data package settings accordion, select the checkboxes corresponding to the relevant database you wish to select from the Qualifier Database drop-down list. For example, Qdb. Addition ally, you can select the Brand checkbox, which will add the Brand database.

9. In the Database refresh settings accordion, select the checkbox corresponding to the relevant language from the Languages drop-down list. For example, French – Canada(fr-CA). The English – United States(en-US) language is selected by default.

10. In the Enable Sync accordion, select the checkboxes corresponding to the relevant databases you wish to sync from the Database drop-down list to the PIM reference data.

11. Click the Save button to save the Autocare DB Connector App settings.

After the settings are successfully saved, the Autocare DB Connector automatically downloads the latest versions of the selected databases on the First Friday of each month. Additionally, missing databases from the past three months are downloaded as per the settings specified in this scenario.

To verify the downloads of databases according to the specified schedule by the Autocare DB Connector app:

1. Click the Task Status tab on the Home page.
2. Select Autocare DB Refresh option from the Type drop-down list.
3. Click View Details link on a task executed on the first Friday of the month.
4. View the relevant task details on the Task Summary page.
