The Digital Asset definition template in Excel format helps you to define and manage various types of digital assets; Word or PDF Documents, Images, Audio and Video files. This is an out-of-the-box DAM model that is already populated with certain attributes, relationship, and entities. It is recommended to take this model as-is and then update changes as required.

Worksheets in DAM Base Data Model Template

The template allows you to define your data model using different worksheets in the template.

Worksheets Description
DAM Metadata You can select whether to load or import the specific digital assets data model details to the application or not in this worksheet.
DAM Entities You can define and manage the digital assets entity name and its display name such as Image, Video, Audio, and Document in this worksheet.
DAM Entities Locale You can manage digital assets entity definitions across different locales in this worksheet.
DAM Attributes You can define and manage the digital assets attributes name and its display name, display type, data type, and group it belongs to in this worksheet.
DAM Attributes Locale You can manage the digital assets attribute definitions across different locales in this worksheet.
DAM Relationships You can manage the digital assets relationship definitions and properties such as name, relationship type, from and to connection in this worksheet.
DAM Relationships Locale You can manage the digital assets relationship definitions across different locales in this worksheet.
DAM E-A-R Model You can manage the mappings of digital assets entity with attributes and relationships in this worksheet.
DAM E-C Model You can manage the mappings for digital assets entity to different contexts and context types in this worksheet.
DAM Variant Model You can define and manage the entity variants of digital asset domain.

Map Attributes via Digital Asset Data Model:

To map attributes via digital asset data model:

  1. On the navigation menu, click on Configurations > Digital Asset Domain Data Model.

Result: The Asset Domain Data Model page is displayed.

  1. In the Upload or Download Digital Asset Domain Model widget, click the Download button.

Result: The Download Model page is displayed.

  1. Expand the Select Entity Types accordion and perform the following:

    a. Click ">>" to move the values in batches of 100 from the Available column to the Selected column.
    b. Click ">" to move the selected values from the Available column to the Selected column.
    c. Click "<" to move the selected values from the Selected column to the Available column.
    d. Click "<<" to move all the values from the Selected column to the Available column.

Note:

You can also choose the required Locales, Attributes, and Relationships.

  1. Click Download All.

  1. Click Show Task Details.

  1. Once the task is completed successfully, click the Download icon to download the file to your local system.

  1. Open the downloaded Digital Asset Data Model Excel file.

  2. Click the Entities sheet to view the out-of-the-box (OOTB) entity types [Image, Document Audio, Video]

  1. Click the Attributes sheet and enter the display name.

  1. Click the E-A-R Model sheet. Enter "worldregion" in the Mapped Attribute column and "document" in the Related Entity Type column to map the attribute. Then, save the Excel file.

  1. On the Asset Domain Data Model page, upload the updated Digital Data Model by dragging or dropping the file in the Upload or Download in the Digital Asset Domain Model Data widget. You can also do so by clicking the Upload button.

  1. Click on Show task details.

Result: The Base Data Model Import task opens. The base data model is uploaded successfully.

To validate the new attribute,

  1. On the Asset Domain Data Model page, click the Refresh icon on the summary model widget.

  1. Click on View Details of attribute model.

  1. The Search Data Model page opens, and the list of all attributes appears. Here we can see the newly added attribute World Region.
