Enrichment Based on ETIM Classification

Prev Next

ETIM Based Parts Management solution provides you the ability for enrichment of technical attributes based on the underlying ETIM classification model. For example, let us consider the ETIM 10.0 Classification model. The technical attributes associated with the ETIM 10.0 classification are provided by default for Part Enrichment.

Prerequisites:

  • A Classification with the Mapped attributes and Entity Type Association in PIM Application: Upon loading the intended classification via ETIM Classification Model, the classifications are available. Let us consider one sample classification as EC000019 – Coaxial cable.

As per the Thing Domain model deployed, these are few attributes available for the considered classification EC000019 – Coaxial cable that are already mapped via model. The attributes would start appearing in that classification with the relevant attribute group to perform the enrichment.

Enrichment:

To enrich the attributes associated with any classification, you must have the path attribute and required classification mapped.

Note:

The enriched attributes can further be utilized by the downstream systems.

Here are few sample Part entities mapped to the classification EC000019 – Coaxial cable with the path attribute (ETIM 10.0 Classification):

The “ETIM-10.0 Classification” group - would have all technical attributes modelled in taxonomy model as per the selected Class for the required ETIM Taxonomy already configured into the system via provided Taxonomy Model uploads.

For the selected path attribute (ETIM 10.0 Classification in this scenario), click the Attributes tab and select ETIM-10.0 Attributes.

For the selected classification, you can view the attributes that are part of the classification. In this case, the classification EC0019 – Coaxial Cable has the attributes as displayed. Enrich the required 10.0 classification attributes. A sample screenshot of Enriched ETIM 10.0 Classification Attributes is displayed:
