How to Export Entity Data with ETIM-BMEcat Export App?

The offering provides you an application with the preconfigured elements and a defined structure in association with ETIM – BMEcat 2005 guideline document.

Notes:
  • The application supports ETIM 10.0, 9.0, and 8.0 versions.
  • The ETIM-BMEcat Export application supports exporting the data of up to 40,000 entities.
  • Entity data can be exported only from the Search Thing Domain page.
  • To perform the export operation, all the required data such as data attributes, reference attributes, taxonomies, and UOMs must be available in the EDS application.

Scenario: Let us consider that a supplier wants to export the Part data according to the ETIM-BMEcat-Guideline-V5. Perform the following:

  1. Go to Search > Search Thing Domain.

    Result: The Search Thing Domain page is displayed.

  2. Select the required entity type from the Type dropdown menu. Here, we have considered Part as our entity type.

    Result: A list of associated entities is displayed.

  3. Select the required Part(s). Here, we have considered supplier_5k_01679 and supplier_5k_01099 as our Part(s).

  4. Click Actions > BMEcat Export.

    Result: The BMEcat Export page with the Catalog, Buyer, and Supplier sections is displayed.

  5. On the BMEcat Export – 2 entities page, perform the following:

    Note:

    To allow Export, ensure to enter the required attribute values in the Catalog, Buyer, and Supplier sections according to the validation conditions. For more information, see BMEcat Export Attributes.

    1. In the Catalog section, perform the following:

      1. Transaction Type: Select the required transaction type. Here, we have considered T_NEW_CATALOG as our transaction type.
      2. Enter the required values of the corresponding attributes.

    2. In the Buyer section, select the required buyer name.
      Here, we have considered Buyer001 as our buyer. Ensure that you configure all the required attributes.

    3. In the Supplier section, select the required supplier name.
      Here, we have considered Test Supplier as our supplier. Ensure that you configure all the required attributes.

  6. Click Export > Show task details.

    Result: The XML file with all the relevant attributes is initiated for export.

  7. To download the XML file after the task process is completed, click the download icon.

The following is a sample exported XML file based on the ETIM 10.0 version:

If you select other versions, the XML file will be exported based on the selected version.

Notes:
  • ETIM Version selected during the export operation is displayed on the Task Name attribute. For example, BMEcat XML| ETIM-10.0.
  • The XML file can be downloaded only when the task status is Completed. For more information, see the second note point in Task Status of BMEcat Export.
