Note:
  • This article is intended only for the System Administrator role.
  • The Locale Model Refresh App is dependent on the ETIM APIs. If the ETIM APIs do not return a response for a specific locale, the data will not be updated in the model.
  • The application supports ETIM 10.0, 9.0, and 8.0 versions.

The offering provides the Locale Model Refresh App that allows you to schedule the data model refresh (Taxonomy Model or Reference Data Model) based on the selected ETIM version and locale. After the data model refresh is successful, you can view the relevant data in the PIM application for a selected locale.

Scenario 1:

Consider a scenario to schedule a locale model refresh for the ETIM 10.0 version, Dutch-Belgium language at 04/22/2026 12:44:00 PM. Perform the following:

  1. From the navigation menu, click the three ellipses icon (•••) and select ETIM > Locale Model Refresh.
Graphic shows left navigation menu to select ETIM and then Locale Model Refresh.

Result: The Locale Model Refresh page is displayed.

  2. Select the required ETIM Version, Language, and Schedule Date and Time.
    Picture12(1)

Result: The selected ETIM Version, ETIM Locale, Syndigo Locale and Schedule Date and Time values are displayed.

Notes:
  • The app supports 23 ETIM locales, as defined by ETIM in the Taxonomy section of the data model. For more information, see Supported Language Versions.
  • The app displays the Syndigo Locale based on the ETIM locale selection.
  • The app includes seven default ETIM locales configured in the Settings page. These locales are non-editable:
ETIM Locale header
Belgian Dutch [nl-BE] Dutch Belgium [nl-BE]
Belgian French [fr-BE] Belgian French [fr-BE]
ETIM English (master) [ei] English - United States[en-US]
Finnish [fi-FI] Finnish Finland [fi-FI]
German [de-DE] de-DE [de-DE]
Italian [it-IT] it-IT [it-IT]
  • If you select a Syndigo locale that differs from the corresponding ETIM locale, the Locale Model Refresh updates the data into the selected Syndigo locale.
Example: If the ETIM locale is German–Germany (de-DE) and you select English–Australia (en-AU) as the Syndigo locale, the Locale Model Refresh updates the data with en-AU.
  • Scheduled date and time must be one hour ahead of current date and time.
  1. Click Schedule Model Refresh.

Scenario 2:

When your default tenant locale is non-SDL, you can refresh the data for the specific locale you have chosen within the app.

Note:

Syndigo delivers its data models in English (en-US) by default. Therefore, for your initial data refresh, select the locale you want as your default.

For example, if your default locale is Norwegian [nb-NO] and you're preparing for the first data refresh, you'll need to follow these steps in the Local Model Refresh App:

  1. Select the ETIM Locale to be Norwegian [nb-NO].
    Picture19(1)
  2. Schedule a model refresh with all the taxonomies and classification selected.
Result: The data model in the application is refreshed or overriden with the default locale as Norwegian.

Any data model refresh performed further on this tenant will have the default tenant locale as Norwegian. To find detailed steps for scheduling a refresh using the App, refer to Scenario 1 on the page above.
