Manage Catalog Data by Country Context

Prev Next

The system supports managing Application data for Catalogs by country context based on Authorized Catalog reference table.

Sample Scenario

Consider you wish to extend the catalog to country context US and CA using ACES XML.

To achieve this, you must create a catalog with the ACES XML file. Let us consider an example with the following details:

  • Vendor Ownership ID: 130376-USA
  • Brand ID: CFHH
  • Part Terminology ID: 1832
  • Authorized country: US (United States) and CA (Canada)
Note:

The combination of the above details should exist in the Authorized Catalog reference table.

Authorized Catalog Table

If the combination of Vendor Ownership ID, Brand ID, and Part Teminology ID (Catalog key) from the XML matches with the Authorized Catalog reference table, then the catalog will be extended to the countries provided in the table.
A sample screenshot of a record from the Authorized Catalog reference table is displayed.

For the catalog creation considered in this example, the context is created for the following matched details:

  • US (United States)
  • CA (Canada)

Attributes Calculation

The following table depicts the attributes calculation based on XML versions.

XSD Version in ACES XML Authorized Catalog Reference Table Approved For Countries Part Approved For Approved for Country
4.0 and 4.1 If the catalog key from XML matches in the table, then country context is assigned based on the values provided in Authorized Countries column. This attribute is populated with values provided in the Authorized Catalog reference table. Not applicable for XML 4.0 and 4.1. This attribute is derived from the ACES XML tag ApprovedFor.
4.2 If the catalog key from XML matches in the table, then country context is assigned based on the values provided in Authorized Countries column. This attribute is populated with values provided in the Authorized Catalog reference table. This attribute is derived from the ACES XML tag PartsApprovedFor. Not applicable for XML 4.2.

The following XML snippet displays the ApprovedFor attribute in XML 4.0.

For more information on how to upload ACES XML, see Uploading ACES Data.

For any ACES xml file that is considered for catalog creation, the following validations are performed to create the country context and its attributes:

  • The context is provided only at the catalog level.
  • Parts Approved For attribute in ACES XML file contains the countries for which the parts are to be approved for. It helps in identifying the country to be created for any catalog.
  • The country available in ACES XML file and Authorized Catalog reference table are mapped for a particular Brand ID, Vendor Ownership ID, and Part Terminology ID.
  • The Country context assignment is based on only the authorized catalogs table for all the versions of the ACES XML file.
