The application allows you to add, manage, and/or view the workflow mappings, which is mapped to a specific Entity Type for a particular context. You can perform these actions by navigating from the Workflow Designer page.
- Only one workflow and one context can be selected at a time.
- By default, Administrator and System Administrator roles can map the workflow.
- Mapping a workflow to multiple entity types is not recommended.
- Inline editing is not supported.
Consider that you wish to create a workflow mapping for “New SKU Introduction” workflow in the “Germany” context.
To create a new workflow mapping for the selected context:

On the navigation menu, click Configuration > Workflow Designer app.
Result: The Workflow Designer page is displayed. -
Select “New SKU Introduction” workflow from the Select Workflow drop-down.
Result: The selected workflow is displayed in the Activity Builder panel.

Result: The Workflow Mappings page is displayed, along with all the existing mappings for the selected workflow.

- By default, the Select Workflow field displays the workflow that is selected in the Workflow Designer. In case you have not selected any workflow in the Workflow Designer page, the first workflow in the list will be selected, and all the existing workflows in the drop-down list are displayed in ascending order.
- In case you have not selected the context, then all the workflow mappings are loaded at the global level.
- In case the Interaction locale is same as the Workflow Designer locale, then the Select Workflow field is displayed in that locale.
- In case the Interaction locale and Workflow Designer locale are different, for example, English – US and German - Germany, respectively, then the Select Workflow field is displayed in the Interaction locale.

Select Country from the Context type drop-down.

Select Germany from the Context Name drop-down.

Click Add Mapping icon to create a new mapping to the selected workflow.
Result: The Add Mapping split view is displayed.

Enter the following in the Adding Mapping split view.

| Fields | Description |

| Entity Type | Select the entity name that you wish to map with the current workflow, such as SKU, Product, Bundle and so on. This is a mandatory field. |
| When To Trigger | Select any one of the trigger actions such as Create Entity, Update Entity, Add to Context, and Update in Context. This is a mandatory field. • Create Entity: Invokes the workflow during entity create at the global level. • Update Entity: Invokes the workflow during entity update at the global level. • Add to Context: Invokes the workflow during entity create at the context level. • Update in Context: Invokes the workflow during entity update at the context level. • Custom BR: Invokes the workflow based on the custom business rule at the entity, and context level. Upon selecting Custom BR, the Trigger Attributes and Trigger Relationship fields are disabled. For more information, see Invoke workflows using custom business rules. |
| Trigger Attributes | Select the trigger attributes from the drop-down list. • The attributes that are displayed in the drop-down list is dependent on the selected entity type. |
| Trigger Relationship | Select the trigger relationships from the drop-down list. • The relationships that are displayed in the drop-down list is dependent on the selected entity type. |

Click Save to save the new workflow mapping. You can click Cancel to discard the changes.
Result: A confirmation message “workflow mapping saved” is displayed. The newly created workflow mapping is displayed in the Workflow Mappings page. The Refresh icon starts flickering in dark red color. The Refresh icon flickers until you click on this icon.

You can also perform the following in the Workflow Mappings page:

Select the checkbox corresponding to the workflow mapping and click icon to update the Trigger Attributes and Trigger Relationships. Note that the Entity Type and When To Trigger fields are disabled for Quick Manage.

icon to display a Confirmation popup.

Click Cancel to cancel the delete operation or click Yes to delete the mappings.
