Let us understand:

  • General information / summary of Taxonomy & Classifications Model.
  • Which physical sheet of Taxonomy & Classifications that you wish to process?
  • What are the legends in Taxonomy & Classifications?
  • What is the Taxonomy & Classifications template version?

In the data model definition template, the taxonomy Metadata sheet helps you to select whether to import the specific taxonomy data model details to the application or not as per your requirements.

A sample screenshot of the Metadata sheet is displayed.

The following table helps you to understand the general information about the taxonomy data model template.

Column Name Description
Template Name Indicates the name of the model to which the template belongs.
Template Version Indicates the version of the template.
Delimiter Indicates the character used to separate a sequence of one or more values. Ideally, it is recommended to use 'two pipes' as the delimiter.
Tenant Specifies the name of the tenant associated with the template.
Notes:
• The application displays an error message in the Task Details page when you import the data model with an incorrect tenant name. For more information, see Upload or Download Taxonomy Model Files.
• You can import a model sheet from one tenant to another without errors, by updating the tenant name to match the target tenant.
• You can choose to leave the tenant name blank and upload the model sheet to any tenant without errors, though it is not recommended.
Domain Indicates the name of domain, which is used in the default template such as "taxonomyModel".
Source Indicates the source to which the model belongs. Currently, all the models belong to internal source.
Legends Highlights the header columns in each worksheet having different data models with different product code for easy identification.
System columns - This column is highlighted in white product text with dark blue product background.
Base data model - This column is highlighted in black product text with light blue product background.
Validation model - This column is highlighted in black product text with light orange product background.
Display model - This column is highlighted in black product text with light green product background.

The following table helps you to select the required data model sheet to process it.

Column Name Description
Sheet No: Indicates the serial number of the worksheet.
Physical Sheet Name Indicates the name of the worksheet.
Process? • Indicates whether the corresponding worksheet is to be processed.
• The possible values you can specify in this column are - Yes or No.
• Specify 'Yes' if you wish to process the corresponding worksheet.
• Specify 'No' if you do not wish to process the corresponding worksheet.

The following table in the Metadata sheet gives you the impact processing values you can specify to trigger impact processing on entities.

Column Name Description
Additional Instruction Indicates the process (PROCESS IMPACT) that gets triggered based on the values you specify.
Notes:
  • The application supports taxonomy import even without the 'Additional Instructions' field being filled in.
  • If the 'Additional Instructions' field is left empty, neither Validate nor Process will be triggered by default, both actions are treated as not selected.
Value Gives you two options – Validate and Process.
• You can specify Validate to validate the impact processing changes on the entities. The taxonomy changes get validated before the entities get saved.
• You can specify Process to skip the validation process and process the taxonomy model.
