How to withdraw a published product for a recipient

Prev Next

Category Item Hierarchy Withdraw (CIHW) allows you to temporarily or permanently withdraw a GDSN publication of a syndicated product for specific recipients and target markets. This capability supports safe product maintenance, structural updates, and product retirement while preserving recipient-level data consistency and GDSN compliance.

To withdraw a published product, choose one of the following withdrawal types:

Temporary Withdrawal

  • Unpublishes products to enable hierarchy or identifier changes.
  • Supports updates such as GTIN changes, GLN changes, target market changes, child quantity updates, and hierarchy restructuring.
  • Workflow: Withdraw → Edit → Validate → Republish
  • Withdrawal can be limited to selected recipients and target markets while others continue to receive updates.

Permanent Withdrawal

  • Unpublishes products and marks them inactive for selected recipients and target markets.
  • Removes recipient-target market associations.
  • Used when products are retired and should no longer be published unless reactivated.
