Keyboard navigation and shortcut keys allow you to perform actions quickly without relying on a mouse. They improve accessibility, enhance productivity, and provide a consistent way to interact with the application. By using these shortcuts, you can move through fields, trigger commands, and complete tasks more efficiently.

This section outlines the commonly used keyboard shortcuts, their functions, and how to use them across different areas of the application.

General Navigations

Use the following Keyboard keys to perform various functions.

Keys

Descriptions

Ctrl+E

Opens the Universal Search from anywhere in the application.

Page Up/Page Down

Scroll through the pages up or down.

Tab

Navigates across UI elements from left to right

Shif+Tab

Navigates across UI elements from right to left.

Space

Selects the focused element or button.

Enter

Run the keyword search (Enter).

Selects the focused element or button.

Esc

Closes the currently open popover or modal.

Examples:

  • Popovers: Saved Filters, Background Tasks, Add Filter, Universal Search

  • Modals: Task Details, Add to Product Catalog

Basic shortcuts

Use the following Keyboard shortcuts to perform various functions.

Ctrl+C

Copies the selected value or content.

Ctrl+X

Cuts the selected value or content.

Ctrl+V

Pastes the copied or cut value or content.

Ctrl+A

Selects all the content within the current field.

Ctrl+Z

Reverts the last action.

Enter product details using keyboard navigation

By default, the first attribute field in the Create New dialog will be in editable mode with the cursor blinking.

Tab

  • Enables the first attribute in editable mode in PDP.

  • Retains the entered value and move to the next attribute.

Shift+Tab

Moves the focus to the previous attribute.

Arrow (Up/Down)

Moves the focus of a value up and down in LOV.

Space

Selects a value from LOV.

Esc

Closes an LOV.

Page Up/Page Down

Scrolls up or down within the Attributes tab while editing.

You can use the keyboard keys for the following attribute types.

Textbox

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Enables the textbox in editable mode when navigated from the previous attribute.

  • Retains the entered value and move to the next attribute

Arrow (Left/Right)

Moves the cursor text-by-text.

Ctrl+Arrow (Left/Right)

Moves the cursor word-by-word.

Shift+Arrow (Left/Right)

Selects the content text-by-text.

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow (Left/Right)

Selects the content word-by-word.

Home

Moves the cursor to the beginning of the text.

End

Moves the cursor to the end of the text.

Textbox collection

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Enables the textbox in editable mode when navigated from the previous attribute.

  • Retains the entered value(s) and moves to the next attribute.

Arrow (Left/Right)

  • Moves the cursor text-by-text while typing.

  • Moves the focus between the added values.

Enter

Adds the entered value, but the cursor remains active for a new value input.

Backspace/Delete

Deletes the focused value.

Boolean

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Moves the focus to the first option when navigated from the previous attribute. For example. “True”.

  • Retains the selected value and move to the next attribute

Arrow (Left/Right)

Moves the focus between the options, such as “True” or “False”.

Space

Confirms the selection.

Date and Date Time

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Enables typing in the field when navigated from the previous attribute. Also, the associated Date or Date Time popover is expanded.

  • Retains the entered value and move to the next attribute

Input method: Enter the date or date time using the keyboard in the required format or use the mouse to select from the popover.

Esc

Closes the Date or Date Time popover, but the field remains in editable mode.

Rich Text

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Enables the Rich Text editor when navigating from the previous attribute.

  • Retains the entered value and move to the next attribute

Arrow (Left/Right)

Moves the cursor text-by-text.

Ctrl+Arrow (Left/Right)

Moves the cursor word-by-word.

Shift+Arrow (Left/Right)

Selects the content text-by-text.

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow (Left/Right)

Selects the content word-by-word.

Home

Moves the cursor to the beginning of the text.

End

Moves the cursor to the end of the text.

Path

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Opens the taxonomy dialog when navigating from the previous attribute. However, the Search bar will be in focus.

  • Retains the selected value and move to the next attribute.

Input method: Use the mouse to select the classification checkbox in the taxonomy dialog.

Once you click the Select button, the dialog is closed, and the focus remains in the path attribute field.

Esc

Enter

Opens the taxonomy dialog while the attribute field is still in editable mode.

Backspace

  • Removes the selected path value from the attribute field in editable mode (single-valued path attribute).

  • Removes the selected path values one by one from the attribute field in editable mode (multi-valued path attribute).

Reference/LOV (Single and multi-valued with Search

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Opens the LOV with the Search box in focus when navigated from the previous attribute.

  • Retains the selected value and move to the next attribute

Arrow (Up/Down)

Moves the focus from the Search box to a value using the Up or Down arrow keys.

Space

Selects the focused value from an LOV.

Arrow-Left

Closes the LOV, but the focus remains on the last value in the attribute field.

Moves the focus between the selected values in the field.

Arrow-Right

Moves the focus between the selected values in the field.

Enter

Opens the LOV while the attribute field is still in editable mode.

Backspace/Delete

Deletes the focused value one by one.

Esc

Closes an LOV, but the attribute field remains in editable mode.

UOM (Single and multi-valued)

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • First Tab: Opens the LOV with the Search box in focus when navigated from the previous attribute.

  • Second Tab: Opens the unit dropdown for the entered value.

  • Third tab: Retains the entered value with the selected unit and move the focus to the next attribute.

Arrow (Up/Down)

Moves the focus of the unit up or down in the unit dropdown.

Space

Selects the focused unit from the unit dropdown.

Enter

Adds the entered value with or without unit change,

  • In case of a multi-valued attribute, the focus remains active for new value input.

Backspace/Delete

Deletes the added values one by one from right to left.

Esc

Closes the unit dropdown.

Nested

Keys

Descriptions

Tab

  • Move the focus to the first cell in the nested grid when navigated from the previous attribute. In case there are no rows, the focus moves to the next attribute.

  • Moves the focus to the next cell from left to right.

Shift+Tab

Moves the focus to the previous cell from right to left.

Arrow (Up/Down)

Moves the focus between the values in LOV.

Space

Confirms the selection.

Backspace/Delete

Deletes the value from a cell.

Esc

Closes the LOV.
