Notes Standardization is the process of system evaluating the onboarded Notes by verifying reserved keywords or special characters for each incoming Note.
While standardization of Notes, the system performs the following:
- Remove escape characters. Example: \n, \b, \r, \f
- Do not remove special characters. Example: +, -, , /, #
Let us consider importing a Catalog with an Application having the Note “GM CAMBER + .25 Degrees SHIM”:
Sample XML Snippet:

Upon uploading the XML into the system, the Note is standardized to “GMCAMBER+.25DegreesSHIM”. Here, all the extra spaces are removed and the special character “+” is retained in the Note.

If there was an existing note for the Application, then the existing notes will have the master ID re-generated based on the current value on the Note text. Example: In the above sample, if we consider having the existing Note, then the regenerated master ID would be GMCAMBER+.25DegreesSHIM.
