This article is intended for the System Administrators.
The catalog deletions are performed in the following ways:
- Full Catalog Deletion
- Partial Catalog Deletion (Application Deletion)
Full Catalog Deletion
This is the process of deleting a Catalog and its Applications.
Let us consider a catalog Lico Disk Brake Caliper Pin which has Application Groups and Applications (90604 records in total):
To delete any catalog in the MDM system or Automotive Application, you must perform the following:

Go to the Search Page > Required Catalog Manage Page > Manage Catalog tab > Basic Attributes tab.

Set the property Marked for Deletion to TRUE and click Save.

Result: The scheduler job runs every 24 hours and picks the catalog, its associated application groups and applications initiated for deletion. The Task Status window allows you to track the deletions with the task type- Automotive Deletes:

- Click View Details in Task Status window. The Task Details page is displayed, which provides you the further details of catalog deletion:
- An appropriate status message of catalog deletion scheduled for PARTIAL or FULL catalog deletion with the catalog ID.
- Total Records: The total number of Applications or Application Groups involved.

Bulk Catalog Deletion
This is the process to delete catalogs in bulk.
To delete the catalogs in bulk:

Select the catalogs in bulk on the Search page.

Click Bulk Edit Icon.
Result: The Bulk Operation window is displayed. -
Select the attribute Marked for Deletion, and then click Next.

Set the property value to TRUE, and then click Save.

Result: The scheduler job runs every 24 hours and picks all the Catalogs and its associated Applications initiated for deletion.
Partial Catalog Deletion/ Application Deletion
This is the process of deleting a catalog partially. It involves deleting Applications within a catalog. Example: If a Catalog Lico Disk Brake Caliper Pin has around 100 Application Groups and each Application Group has around 20 – 30 Applications, then the deletion of any five Applications is partial catalog deletion.
Scenario: Let us consider a Catalog Hays Radio Speaker Connector has multiple Application Groups and Applications. Out of which, consider one Application Group mentioned in the table below has three Applications. And let us delete one selected Application.

To delete the required Application:
Go to the intended Application, and set the property Marked for Deletion to TRUE.

Result: The scheduler job runs every 24 hours and picks the Application initiated for deletion. This is Partial Catalog Deletion.
You can track the status via the Task Status window. After the Application is deleted, you can see the Application count updated in an Application Group; and the Application deleted:


In addition to the above behaviour, you must be aware of the following:
- Application(s) are deleted in either of the mentioned scenarios:
- Deleting the Application(s)
- Deleting the Catalog
When a Catalog has an Application Group and each Application Group has multiple Application records within it:
• Deleting any one Application record in the Application Group will delete only the selected Application and not the entire Catalog.
• Deleting all the Application records within the Application Group will have the Application Group deleted.
