Workflow Status Synchronization between PIM and Syndication Modules

This article is intended for both V1 and V2 flow.

Scenario: Let us consider a scenario where:

  1. A Supplier (in Syndication) publishes the product (Universal Clamp Air Filter) to a Retailer (in Syndication).
  2. The Retailer accepts and syndicates the product to PIM to get the approval from Retailer (in PIM).
  3. The Retailer in PIM acknowledges the request along with a feedback message.

Note:

The following section describes the steps 2 and 3 depicted in this scenario.
Assumption: The Supplier (in Syndication) has already published the product.

To acknowledge a product via workflow, the Retailers (in Syndication and PIM) must perform the following steps:

View supplier published product in Syndication

After the Supplier (in Syndication) publishes the product to the Retailer (in Syndication), the product is displayed on the Active Products page with the workflow step Manual Review.

  1. Click Bulk Review to view more information about the workflows of the product, global attributes, and category attributes.

    Result: The workflow of the product is displayed on the Universal Clamp – Manual Review drop-down list.

Approve product in Syndication

The following screenshot depicts the Retailer approving the product in Syndication:

After the Retailer (in Syndication) approves the product, the workflow step is advanced to Waiting for PIM Validation, and the product is synchronized to PIM.
The following screenshot depicts the workflow advancement of the product from Manual Review to Waiting for PIM Validation:

Approve or reject product in PIM

To approve or reject the product, the Retailer (in PIM) must perform the following steps:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Search > Search Thing Domain.

    Result: The Search Thing Domain page is displayed.

  2. Search for the product for which you want to provide feedback and then perform the following steps:
    a. Select the required product.

    b. Click Workflow > Item Approval.

    c. In the Item Approval step, the Retailer can Approve or Reject the product. Here, the product is rejected with the feedback message, Need more description.

    Note:

    After approving the product, it is synchronized to the Syndication module.

    Results:

    • An alert containing ‘Reject’ successful message is displayed in PIM.

  • The following are the workflow updates received by the Supplier and Retailer in Syndication:
    • The feedback is sent to the Supplier and displayed on the product manage page. The Supplier can proceed to complete the workflow steps based on the received feedback.

    • The workflow step is updated from Waiting for PIM Validation to Vendor Review for the Retailer persona:

Note:
