The Background Tasks icon in the global top navigation becomes visible automatically when an asynchronous task is initiated across the application. It serves as a non-intrusive notification that shows the progress of background tasks and provides clear feedback on whether each task is in progress, successful, or failed. This functionality is available where background tasks are performed, so you can monitor the status of your actions in real time.
To view background tasks, click tasks icon. The following information and task count are displayed:
- Currently Running: Displays tasks that are currently in Processing or Queued states.
For Queued and Processing tasks that have not started, display a loading spinner around the icon. When processing starts, replace it with the 0% to 100% progress indicator.
- Recently Completed: Displays the list of recently completed tasks, including those that are Successful, Partially Failed, or Failed states.
For tasks with a Partially Failed or Failed status, click View Details to review detailed error information.
- See all: On click, it displays the Background Tasks page, including the Task Type, Status, Task Start Date, Task End Date, and Initiated By columns. For more information, see Background Tasks page.
Background Tasks page
The Background Tasks page displays the following information:
- Click the Task Type, Status, Task End Date, and Task Start Date drop-downs to filter the required details. You can select a custom date range of up to 60 days for the task start or end date to display the relevant task details.
- The page displays up to 500 tasks from the last 60 days in a grid format.
