How to edit products in bulk

Bulk Edit allows you to edit multiple products at a time in a tabular format. This experience closely resembles working in online 'Excel Spreadsheets' or 'Google Sheets', allowing you to edit the attributes at the cell level, copy and paste the values, and correct any validation errors in real-time.

This helps you maintain data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across your product catalog. By leveraging Bulk Edit, you can save time, reduce manual errors, and ensure that your data remains up-to-date and reliable.

The selected products are displayed in a row-wise format with the default view, further allowing you to personalize the view. Additionally, you can streamline bulk data management by using copy and paste functionality and keyboard navigation.

Copy and paste

You can quickly copy and paste values across multiple cells using keyboard shortcuts and drag-and-drop actions.

• Use Ctrl + C to copy the selected cell(s) and Ctrl + V to paste in the target cells.
• Drag the border of a cell to paste the value to one or more cells vertically in a column.

Keyboard navigation and shortcuts

The supported keyboard navigation and shortcuts in the Bulk Edit page:

• Arrow keys to navigate between the cells.
• Enter key to enable editing the cell.
• Tab key to proceed to the next cell (row-wise).
• Shift + Tab keys to move back to the previous cell (row-wise).
• Ctrl to select multiple cells.
• Shift to select consecutive cells row-wise or column-wise.
• Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste the values, respectively.
• Delete and Backspace keys to remove the value(s) of the selected cell.

Asset actions in asset preview modal

Use the available actions in the asset preview modal to manage the selected asset:

Action	Description
Replace Asset	Click to replace the current asset with another asset.
Download Asset	Click to download the selected asset file.
Clear Asset	Click to clear the asset from the attribute.
View and Manage Asset	Click to clear the asset from the attribute.

Personalize Bulk Edit view

The Bulk Edit page displays the products in Default view, similar to the Products page. You can create a personalized view with the attributes that you wish to edit in bulk. For more information, see How to personalize your view.

You can further personalize the Bulk Edit grid with the following options.

• Pin, unpin, or remove columns.
• Resize or reorder the columns.
• Sort by ascending or descending order.
• Filter by Contains, Has Value, or Has No Value.
  

Edit products in bulk

Edit multiple products at a time in the Bulk Edit grid.

To edit products in bulk:

1. Go to Products page.
2. Select the products to edit in bulk.
   You can select up to 500 products, irrespective of the entity types they belong to.
3. Click the Bulk Edit icon.
   

4. In the Bulk Edit page, select a view from the Views dropdown. For more information, see How to personalize your view.
5. Edit products in bulk and click Save Changes.
   

How to preview asset attributes in Bulk Edit page

Asset attributes are displayed as thumbnails in the Bulk Edit grid. Make sure the required asset attribute is included in your view, then click the asset thumbnail to preview and manage the asset.

Understand locale-specific asset values in Bulk Edit page

You can manage locale-specific asset values directly in the Bulk Edit page.
To manage locale-specific asset values:

• If an asset attribute is localizable, the grid displays separate columns for each locale (for example, Main Image (French CA), Main Image (French FR)).
• You can view and edit asset values independently for each locale.
• When you add or replace an asset in a locale-specific column, only that locale value is updated.
• If a locale value cannot be loaded, the cell displays an error state, while other locale columns remain functional.
