Product variants represent different variations of a product/product group, but they differ in specific attributes such as size, color, and so on. These variants act as standalone products and are linked to a single parent product.
The application supports multi-level variations of a product that can be categorized logically. For example, an apparel company can have the following variant breakdown for a shirt.
- Product Group – Shirt
- Product - Color – Blue, Green
- SKU - Size – S, M, and L
In this example, color and size are attributes, and corresponding options are their values. A sample variant is Shirt: Blue, S.
You can add, generate, download, and/or remove variants from the Variants tab on the Product Details Page (PDP).
Add variants to your product
You can add one or more products as variants to a product.
To add variants:

From the Products page, select a Product or Product Group.

In PDP, click the Variants tab.

Click the Add button.

In the Add Variant dialog, select the products from the displayed list.
You can also search for the products or filter by attributes, properties, or business conditions.

Click Add.
You can view the newly added variants (child products) in the Variants tab.
Generate product variants
You can generate all possible combinations of variants at multiple levels based on the configured attributes.
To generate variants:

In the Variants tab, click the Generate Variants button.

In the Generate Variants dialog, verify and update the attribute values to generate variants.

Click Next.
In the Variants stepper, you can view all possible combinations of variants.

Click Generate All Variants.
Or
Select the required combination of variants and click Generate Variants. -
Click Close when the variant generation is completed.
You can view the newly generated variants in the Variants tab.
View variant hierarchy
You can view the Variant Hierarchy icon on the right-side panel in PDP. Upon clicking the icon, you can view the variant hierarchy and navigate seamlessly to any parent or child products.
In the Variant Hierarchy panel:

The Generate Variants button is displayed when any parent product has no variants.

The Add Parent button is displayed when a node-level product has no variants.
Common actions
Upon adding variants, you can perform the following:
