Localization in PX Cloud

Prev Next

Localization is one of the key capabilities in product data management, especially when an organization operates across multiple countries or languages. You can maintain a single source of truth while delivering region-specific data. In product data management, localization means handling multiple interaction languages, managing translations of key product attributes, supporting localized digital assets, and applying region-specific naming conventions, date formats, and units of measure.

You can personalize your language preferences to ensure a consistent and accurate experience across the application. This includes:

User Interface (UI) Localization

UI Localization refers to the translation of all the UI elements, such as page titles, field labels, messages, button labels, tooltips, and so on, to a specific language or region. You can select your preferred Interface Language from My Profile. For more information, see How to manage your language preferences.

Currently, the following are the supported Interface Languages:

Locale ID Language Country Definition
nl-NL Dutch Netherlands Dutch, Netherlands
en-GB English United Kingdom English, United Kingdom
en-US English United States English, United States
fr-FR French France French, France
de-DE German Germany German, Germany
es-US Spanish United States Spanish, United States

Data Model Localization

Data Model Localization refers to the translation of data model elements such as attributes, workflows, and business condition names, and so on, in your preferred Interface Language. For more information, see How to manage your language preferences.

For example,

  • Attribute names: Description or Price
  • Relationship names: Cross-sell, Has Images
  • Workflow names: Product Onboarding
    • Step names: Marketing Enrichment
    • Action names: Done, Approve
  • Business condition names: Marketing Attributes Required
  • Unit of Measure names: Kilogram

Format Localization

Format Localization refers to the representation of the data, such as date, time, number, and units, according to regional or cultural conventions, without changing the underlying data itself. You can configure these formats from My Profile. For more information, see How to localize Date, Time, and Number formats.

Data Localization

Data Localization refers to the translation of product or asset-related information, such as name, description, features, tags, and marketing content, into multiple languages. This allows you to localize product data for a specific language without creating and maintaining separate product records for each language.

You can select your preference from My Profile to view the data in the selected language across the application or from the Data Language selector in the Products, Product Details, and Bulk Edit pages.
