In PX Cloud, workflows help you manage your product or asset information in a structured and guided way, improving the quality and reliability of product data throughout its lifecycle.
What is a workflow?
A workflow is a series of interconnected steps that transitions (guides) the product through various stages, which include both automated actions and human tasks, such as creation, review, approval, and publishing. Each step indicates the necessary action, the assignee who must work on it.
You can work through these steps in a specific order, where you must complete each task before the product moves to the next step. If your process requires more flexibility, multiple steps can run in parallel, allowing multiple assignees to work simultaneously without waiting for other parallel steps to complete.
Benefits of working with workflows
Using workflows, you can collaborate with your team, track the status of tasks, and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance before it is published.
The application offers workflow management in some of the key areas, such as Product Details page, Dashboard, and Products page.
Product Details
You can manage your product or asset workflows in detail from the Workflows tab in the right pane of the Product Details Page (PDP) or the Asset Details Page (ADP).
In the Workflows panel, you can:
- Switch between the My Workflows and All tabs. The My Workflows tab displays the workflows you are responsible for.
- View Active and Inactive Workflows.
- Assign workflows to yourself.
- Filter attributes by data quality (business conditions).
- Submit, Approve, or Reject workflow steps with comments.
Dashboard
You can add a My To-Do’s widget to your Dashboard layout to track the status of your products by data quality (business condition) in a particular workflow step.
In the widget, you can directly access the PDP or view all the products in the Products page.
Products
You can perform workflow actions for a set of products in bulk from the Products page when you navigate from the My To-Do’s widget.
